Jerusalem - Is it Holy to both Jew and Muslim?

The Old City of Jerusalem

Jerusalem has been a Jewish holy city since the days of King David, and the Temple Mount in the Old City of Jerusalem, the site of two Jewish Temples, is the holiest site in Judaism. But in 638 AD the Muslims captured Jerusalem from the Byzantines and built the al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock on the site of the Jewish Temple. So is the Temple Mount an Islamic holy site too? How important is this site to the Muslim?

For some Muslims the Mount is widely considered to be the third holiest site in Islam. But why is it even the 'third'? The word 'Jerusalem' is not even mentioned in the Quran, but it is mentioned 667 times in the Bible! And while Jews pray facing the Temple Mount, Muslims pray towards Mecca! Yet, the PA leadership say "We will never accept a Palestinian state without Jerusalem as its capital". Jerusalem is indeed a 'heavy stone' for the nations and will be the vortex of future Middle East turmoil (Zech 12.3). Please see the video and make up your own mind. Israel's Land Boundaries

The Old City of Jerusalem

The Bible says:

"I will take the sons of Israel from among the nations where they have gone ... and bring them into their own land ..." (Ezek 37.21)

The question is: 'What exactly is their own land?' The legal foundation of Israel's land boundaries can be traced back to the 1920 San Remo Peace Conference, the 1922 Mandate for Palestine, the 1947 UN Resolution 181, and Article 80 of the UN Charter.

These often ignored documents explain the legal rights of both Jews and Palestinians (the Mandate safeguarded the civil and religious rights of all inhabitants of Palestine, irrespective of race or religion and political rights to self-determination for Arabs were guaranteed by the League of Nations). Likewise, according to international law, the Israeli people can settle anywhere between the Jordan and the Mediterranean Sea, which includes Gaza and the West Bank. Unfortunately the Palestinians, the media and even the UN often ignore these historical facts. Please see the facts for yourself in the following 15 minute video. For more detail see Israel's Legal Borders.

Israel's Plea to the UN

UN General Assembly - Manhatten

If only the UN would listen to the truth about Israel! About how Israel has accepted a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict several times, only for it to be rejected by Arab nations. About how Israel actually gained land each time she has been attacked! About how Israel wants Arabs to live peaceably within Israel. About how God, not the UN or any other body, has given the land to the Israeli people.

The following video supposes that Rabbi Gershon Overlander, Director of Chabad House of Hendon, London, addresses the UN General Assembly. It didn't happen - the film is not real. But the Rabbi's speach is real and everything he says should be heard by the UN. Hear more from Rabbi Gershon Overlander at A new approach to the Middle East conflict.

The Arab-Israeli Conflict & Global Aims of Islam

Israel and the Arab nations

Israel is surrounded by Arab nations

What is going on in the Middle East? What is happening to Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Syria, Turkey, Iran ... Russia? What are the intentions of the Muslim Brotherhood? Is the US in danger of attack from Iran? What is the greatest threat to Israel?

Leaving politics and turning to issues of faith, what are the concepts of the 'Messiah' in Judaism, Christianity and Islam? How does the Imam Mahdi compare with Christ? How do these faiths view 'the mark of the beast'? Are we seeing Ezekiel 38-39 unfolding? Watch this revealing 60 min documentary 'Rumours of War' from GBTV:

Persecution of Christians in the Middle East

Persecution of Christians

Jesus said that His followers would be persecuted:

"... they will lay their hands on you and will persecute you ... you will be hated by all because of My name." (Lk 21.12-17)
"... an hour is coming for everyone who kills you to think that he is offering service to God" (Jn 16.2)

Over 200 million Christians in 80 countries are being persecuted because of their faith. Persecution is especially intense in the Middle East and John 16.2 could be taken as a prediction of persecution from the Muslim world. The shocking video below highlights the persecution of Christians in Algeria, Egypt, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Pakistan, Africa and Israel. For more detail see Persecuted Christians.

Equality & Sharia Law in the UK

Sharia Law in the UK

Sharia (traditional Islamic law) was developed by Muslim scholars from the Quran and the teachings of Muhammad. It covers many aspects of life, such as dress code, finance, property, hygiene, religion and politics. Legally recognised Sharia courts now operate in the UK and deal with civil, commercial and family matters.

Muslims promoting Sharia believe that Islamic law must supersede the law of the land because Sharia is divinely ordained and recognises no superior secular authority. It is claimed that the fundamental aim of Islam is to be at war with a nation until it submits to Sharia Law (Islamic rule) - see dar al-Islam - House of Islam. This is alarming for the UK, but there is a more immediate concern. Sharia is fundamentally inconsistent with UK law when it comes to equality. It treats women very differently from men e.g. divorce is difficult for women but very easy for men. It is claimed that Muslim women are suffering discrimination within closed Sharia courts, and judges now question whether decisions in Sharia courts are in accordance with the Human Rights Act.
